Throughout the play Macbeth has many visual and auditory hallucinations. These hallucinations often seem to be related to his doubt about doing something or his guilt for what he has done. In act III he encounters the most severe hallucination he has had at this point in the play, and it could not be at any worse of a time. When he is about to sit down for dinner he sees the the ghost of Banquo, who was killed by the two peasants, in his chair. Macbeth sees the blood covered Banquo and proceeds to flip out. This is very bad timing because he has just become king and is now showing everyone he rules that he is mentally weak, but Lady Macbeth is there and is able to cover up for him. This hallucination is also unlike the previous ones because it is from something he directly did, and also it is the most intense one he has suffered.
I really like this picture because the colors are awesome and it looks really cool. It also goes along with the post really well.
ReplyDeleteI like these pictures, and the post is well said. I agree that the hallucination of the ghost makes Macbeth look questionable to the people around him, but his lady is there to help him along.
ReplyDeleteI really like the choice of the guy from half baked for the pictures. Also the post goes really well with the chosen photographs. The hallucination could not have come at a worse time, as Scholten said.
