In act III the reader begins to see a darker side of Macbeth. Macbeth, having recieved what he has sought out for, transitions from a man out to fufill his destiny into an unpredictable and unstable villian. Macbeth's kill count has reached 3 and is increasing scene by scene. His murders which started out as fufiling what he believed to be his own true destiny turned into murder out of his own insecurities. If he hadnt known that Banquo's offspring would overtake his crown than Macbeth wouldnt have killed Banquo. I feel like Macbeth has had an equivocal character throughout the play because his elevator doesn't run to the top floor if you know what i mean. He has constant hallucinations and his mental state is not consistent. We can only wonder what type of Macbeth is going to show up in act iv.
