In the second act Macbeth kills the king. His internal conflict begins right after he had commited the crime. He says that he heard a voice cry, "Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep" and "Glamis hath murdered sleep, and therefore Cawdor shall sleep no more." This i believe is a foreshadowing of Macbeth's sleeplessness later in the story. Also when Lady Macbeth asks him to bring back the knives, Macbeth can't do it because he is already second guessing his decision. Before Macbeth actually commits the murder he envisions a dagger in front of him. This vision is brought on by the stress that he has put on himself by deciding to kill the king.
