Blood has been a symbol in the play Macbeth. When Macbeth was thinking about killing Duncan he sees a dagger with Blood on it. In turn that dagger will lead to Duncan' s death. After he kills Duncan and Lady Macbeth puts the daggers back they look at their hands and see Duncans blood. Lady Macbeth says "A little water clears us of this deed" to Macbeth hoping that when he washes his hands the guilt will go away. Blood symbolizes the guilt that they have for killing Duncan.
